experience with non 7 trannys?

does anyone here have experience with non 7 trannys in thier cars? im wondering cause i chipped a tooth in my tranny the other day and want to know what my options are. rebuild/get a new one/put a non 7 tranny in.

should i rebuild
should i get another 7 tranny?
are there trannys out there that are compatible with a series5 n/a?

anyone got advice?

If I remember, someone is manufacturing a bellhousing/adapter for a chevy? tranny.

Here's an adapter for the Ford T5

Your best bet budget-wise would be to find a lower mileage used tranny and put it in. You can use any tranny from 86-91 as long as it's from an NA.
