Question Expected power from S4 N/A

Hi Guys,

I have been messing with troubles in my car for over a year now. Basically what I'm looking for is an expected hp @ wheels figure for my setup.

S4 13B N/A (6 port) - the guy who sold it to me said it was 'mildported'
3" Straight thru exhaust, cat, reso + header
S4 LIM and UIM
None of the stock emissions gear/airpump etc. actuator holes in LIM blocked off etc.
No Airflow meter (ecu runs off MAP) - free-er flowing intake
CAI
TB Mod (single secondary butterflies only)
5th and 6ports have no actuators - so are always open
Microtech Fuel Injection. 4x550cc injectors
Engine has good compression - only about 20000 km since rebuild.

I have read people are getting over 170hp with similar setups, last time I dynoed I was getting a max of about 130hp.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Paul.

170 flywheel.... maybe. i'd say no more than 140 - 150rwhp.

i don't get these 170 fwhp, who dynoes their flywheel anyway - the only power measurement that matters is what makes it to the road. i have seen graphs of 2 seperate dyno session of 6ports with over 170 rwhp (2 dif cars)

drive train lose!!!! yea!!! gotta love it!!! uh hum, yea. It sucks
Its weird you have all those mods for a mild street port (and by that I mean secondary butterfly's gone and 4x550 cc injectors, meh, cant hurt)

well having the aux ports open all the time allows for more flow, but the 550cc injectors all round are overkill.. but they came with it, so why bother downgrading

It all depends on the streetports.

Some people here make 180 with a bridgeport. Others make 200 on just a streetport. I say redyno it.

I have dynoed about 3 times. 125-130 rwhp.

So I'm thinking the tune must be bad - I just fixed a vac leak a few weeks ago which has been leaking for the past year and a half I'm pretty sure! damn brake booster connection.

So every time ive been dynoed this damn thing has been leaking.

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna book in to get everything sorted in about a month. Maybe a new ECU, full dyno tune, looking forward to it ;-)

130? Something's fucked. You should be able to get into the 150's on stock ports I'd think, so with all those other goodies you've got good potential. 3" exhaust is too big IMO, I have the 2.5" Racing Beat duals with a race midpipe.

Did you pull the auxilary port sleeves out? I know there's a debate about it, but I've got the pineapple port sleeves wired open right now (need to replace the auxilary actuators) and that seems to be working fine.

definitly bad tune... a good tune will get you up to 160-180 wheel hp, if its ported

i was refering to your mentioning of seeing 170 hp... you didn't specify RW or FW... so i was just stating that maybe you would see 170 at the flywheel. that's all man, don't get mad because your car isn't putting down what you THINK it should.

look at all the different dyno numbers the TII's put out with similar setups... it's not all the same. if you have dyno'd 3 different times and gotten 130rwhp then there you go. the vaccum leak is not going to effect your total power.

what do you plan to tune with? it probably is a bit on the rich side overall with those injectors, but i don't think you're going to gain 40 - 50 rwhp IMO.

arghx - im aware that 3" exhaust is too big- but that should not limit top end power, the only thing it will limit as down low acceleration.. car came with 3", too much money to change it all over. i'm hoping somethings fucked good so we can fix it and reclaim those horses. the sleeves were missing when i got the motor, and the intake welded up, so theres no going back for me with current intake

kompressorlogic - hope you're right lol

FB II - not angry mate lol i should have mentioned rwhp in first post..

its a microtech digi 1 pro ecu... i'm looking at maybe upgrading that though.. and i guess smaller primaries would not hurt. It was dynotuned 3 times monitoring the Air/Fuel ratio, it's not running rich.. it's an old ECU though and I don't know how well it's been tuned.. Taking it to a new guy in about a month.

put your 6pi back in and get an aftermarket puck style clutch.. i wouldn't be surprised if that made a big difference.

Are you sure you're not dynoing 130 Kilowatts or whatever crazy number you Aussies use?
