Exhaust Thoughts.

In a little bit my 7 is going back under the knife for repairs, The exhaust system will be removed and this is the perfect time to start in on it I think. I have narrowed it down on what i would like to do for my new system. But I cant make up my mind for the life of me. im leaning the most twards a Racing beat street header/cat delete with borla catback, im worried that the header will be to loud, and i cant get a good sound clip of the borla catback. the other system that is really calling my name is the Racing beat true dual system but this is my DD and noise cant be insane. if anyone has a good sound clip of a stock engine/stock muffler car with the racing beat street header that would really rock, other than that i want some info on what you guys think of the noise level. thanks guys.

What are you going to do about the backpressure required for the 5th and 6th ports?

simple, the racing beat pre silencer/ cat delete has a pick up tube, the racing beat header/cat delete has the pick up tube for the 5th and 6th ports on the Header its self, the main reason im leaning twards the header is becouse of this reason, the pick up tube is RIGHT there on the header, meaning an open exhaust shouldnt mess with the proper working order of the ports, but if the ports do fail when i mod the exhaust i am toying with the idea of running my ports off the air pump like the s5 dose, but i have no idea what kind of work that will take to rig up, in theory it shouldnt be hard to do.

The only thing Racing Beat sells that has the port actuator tube is the presilencer. If you do the cat replacement/presilencer combo it will use the stock manifold. If noise will be an issue, a Racing Beat exhaust is the way to go. You will notice a nice bump in power, sound great, and be extremely civil around town with no drone on the highway.

ok, yea i was thinking of the true dual system...it has the 5/6 port pick up on the header, the other systems use the presilencer to do it. ok, so the header will be a little much for a street car check, anyone use a borla cat back? how do they sound?

A certainly will not be too much for the street. On my FB I had an RB road race header that was collected and straight piped back to their power pulse muffler. Sounded a little louder than stock cruising around town but wailed at WOT. I've heard the Borla catback makes more noise than the RB. With a header, I would probably stay away from the Borla.
