I hear everyone talking about how loud an rx7 is. When I purchased mine it had one of the mufflers disconnected and was relatively quiet.

One thing I noticed was the upper rpm range did not pull real hard, so I was wondering if it might be so quiet from the pre-cats maybe being clogged?

 

Yup the cats are probably clogged... thats for sure.
