Exhaust Questions (series 5 turbo)
My fc is in japan at the moment waiting to be imported (FC's are expensive over here) and i am planning on throwing on a new exhaust when it arrives, There are pictures below that show what it looks like at the moment, and i have no idea what brand or size it is.
I am looking at the complete turboback racingbeat exhaust, but am unsure.
What is a ideal size exhaust?
Is dual or single better?
Of course single is usually louder, but i have been looking at an APEXi ECV, has anybody had any experience with these?
It is my daily, although it will see alot of track and drift use, i am looking for something under around 95db
And are there any advantages of using a stainless steel exhaust over just a normal cannon?
thanks alot, bryan

Rotory engines are known to run hotter then their piston brethern.. so just keep that in mind when choosing an exhaust.. u don't wanna be changing them every year...so it might be better to spend a little more now then alot more later..
if u don't mind my asking, how much is an FC in Japan?

Yeah, i understand what you mean, which is why i am looking for some guidance as to which exhaust to buy instead of something cheap that won't last
The fc itself cost $3400AUD
the service fee for the import company $1000AUD
Getting it to australia $2700AUD
Overall it looks to be in good condition and was rebuilt about 60k km ago

holy crap that's almost $5,500
isn't it hard spending all that hard earned money, on a car u've never seen or test driven before?
as for ur exhaust.. many ppl here will reccomend u the RB or the corksport exhaust... twin paired exhaust will be quieter then a single exhaust... but being in aus the shipping from the US will kill u...
u could consider a local shop making u a nice custom SS one instead...

haha yeah it is hard, but my brother is on holiday over there and was able to check it out for me, so it makes it a little more comforting.
These corksport exhausts are looking nice, i don't think any local places sell them though.

dude if ur bro is there, have him buy an exhaust while he's there, they build the bloody car i'm sure they make u a nice exhaust too, just throw it in the trunk and bring them together, maybe a nice kei-office suspension too
haha, he is back now, and we are both broke as he just bought his car too.. so wouldn't be buying for 2 months or so, any idea what the shipping would be on the Full turboback corksports system? i would think 150-200(USD) for shipping?

That exhaust looks fine to me. I certainly wouldn't plan on replacing it until I'd seen it in the flesh and found a real reason to change it. If you want a quiet exhaust you can't beat dual mufflers, and unless it's a poorly designed system they'll be little if any performance penalty because of it. Be happy that it's one (expensive) thing you don't have to blow any money on.
