There is other exhaust out there (Borla, Apex'I, HKS, etc.) but if you want the best exhaust for the most horsepower, true duals are the way to go. It won't pass somg thought at all and it can be pricy. Catco makes cats that won't melt for us and Bonez also makes a high flow cat the replaces the cat section on your stock exhaust. Just having a resonated race pipe (no cat) is the best way to go, but it pollutes more and must be replaced with a cat when it come time to smog. However they are much cheaper. Bonez and Racing Beat also make one of these. Bonez is cheaper but I think Racing Beat's will last longer. This isn't to say that the Bonez piece is bad, just that Racing Beat's stuff is always top-notch, and that is reflected in the price. For an NA 2.5 in piping is the size you want, if you go with the normal exhaust setup, i.e. mani to single pipe to y-pipe to mufflers.

If you are using the factory manifold and you want/need to run a catalytic convertor then Bonez convertor from www.rx7.com is the way to go. You can us that with the factory catback or an aftermarket piece. Pick which ever catback system you want. There are numerous threads about catbacks.

If when you say manifold you mean a header then www.racingbeat.com is a good starting point. Good build quality and they make ever piece you need to do the complete exhaust. It will last for years and does a good job taming the rotary exhaust note.

Racing Beat's stuff is of much higher quality than Bonez. I had a Bonez mid-pipe, and the flange was severely warped after a few years due to the intense heat of a rotary's exhaust. RB is worth the money.

Oh wow, I had no idea that could even happen. I'm not quite sure why RBs true duals are better than one bigger pipe, maybe one of the mods can help us out here...
