Get a 2.5 inch system, its worth it. As for the sound, don't get a silencer, just get good mufflers. If you don't want a loud car, get duals. If you have the money, Racing Beat is about the best you can buy, and it has a nice relatively subdued sound to it. If you don't get the whole RB system, at the very least get the dowpipe/header and presilencer. It will still operate the aux ports (if you have an s4) and has a good sound to it. BTW, I have a good conistion RB downpipe if your interested.
Edit: just saw that you have an 88 so you need something to operate the aux ports, and the RB presilencer is the only one I've seen that reliably operates them.

shoot my friend has a pretty big exhaust on his '88 and I myself love the loud sound it makes when I was racing him. If anything I say make it as loud as you possibly can. The cops might get on you about it (they do around here) but who cares it's still awesome sounding.

if you plan on modding it at all definately go with the 2.5. as for mufflers, i know some borlas are relatively quiet, but dont get glaspak, they tend to do bad things when exposed to the ridiculous heat of rotary exhaust

Thats a good point, I have heard good things about borla XR-1's. And def dont get glass packs. The fiberglass will melt rapidly.

Its actually somewhat small .

Just 2.5" then splits to 3.125 single at the y-pipe.

But thanks for the compliment . But that exhaust is being sold as I'm going with Borla, I need to be able to drive freely without worrying so much about how much noise I make .

awe that sucks yo. I remember when those bagley kids came out and reved up at us, and you hopped into the rx7 and showed them what they had coming. Oh well noise violation laws suck. I can't believe they still have em.

They have them because of peeps **** canning around Bemidji and the hicks and their n00b pipes. I'm sure my exhaust didn't help that situation either.

My exhaust will still sound nice. Just deeper and smoother (and quieter).

PS: I still love Corksport. I'll use their exhaust if I ever build a TII

You sure you want to wire them open? It kills low end torque if you do, plus if you get the RB presilencer they will still work.
