Yea this is a great thread. Finding all kinds of options that come with porting.

Can you measure how far down that goes anyway? I'll work out the timing.
Yes that's against a stock port housing. And it was 123mm btw, the way the lining up was done was with the housing sitting upright on its legs and the ruler just going up the side, so 123mm up is where the top edge of the template lined up to, and is exactly what I did when porting, I was just getting confused, I checked with Kahren when it was lined up with a pic to make sure.

Mine goes down a tiny further because of the bevel I added I guess? Maybe I did go a tad further, but what I tried to do is follow the port exactly and then add the 2mm bevel all the way around after that.

Some quick measuring but with the housing standing on its legs and a ruler going up the side its from 69mm bottom of port to 103.2mm up the ruler to the top side.

That's the best I can do, I'm still a n00b with this whole measuring, and thats all I can provide for you now. I think I'm mostly confusing myself at this point... but oh well.

I'll snap pics of different port layouts scratched into machinist's blue to give you an idea, with pics of the degree wheel so you can get a general idea of exhaust port timing. I'll scratch out some typical street ports, show you what the RB street port, RB race port, etc looks like.

You would not want to make your ports look anything like what this particular engine's ports are going to look like; this engine is N/A bridgeport meant to make power above 8000.

Cool, thanx.
I'll have pics tomorrow. I've already snapped some of RA seal rotor housing damage, so look for those as well.

Looks like you went down a total of 9 mm... I figured 7.2, so with your 2mm bevel I I was pretty close.

I will show you what a typical street ports look like with ink on the rotor housings.

But I will be "race" porting the housings themselves.

You will want to look at the ink marks.

You would not want to actually port anything near to what the housings are going to look like.

I'm still curious about those, I can't remember but were you using RA springs or stock ones? I decided to use RA apex seals and OEM springs, we'll see how it all works out.

I've ran them with OEM springs and with RA springs. Makes no difference to the housing wear.

Interesting, sorry about the bad luck you had with them. I think 88IntegraLS has put about 10k total miles on his with the same housings and tore them down a bunch of times to redo the ports, there's the expected amount of wear on them from RA seals, but not the extent that you described for yours

Really sucks.

Yea i just got the RA 2mm seals with springs to replace mine. Are the two peice better than three piece or is it just a way to remove a piece?

I recall him saying that there was significant scoring of the housings but he was running them anyway.

Alright So to get better lowend, just go wide on the exhaust and little down. What about the intake? Just increase the runners a certain amount?

Is there something that can be put in place of those exhaust pins that hold the sleeves in? I can only find 3 of them.

Tap to fit some allen-head set screws.
10-32 should fit, home depot carries them.
Use the Stainless steel ones.

Pictures are coming, I haven't forgotten.
Didn't do the exhaust port yet, I was busy with the bridgeport this weekend.
