Exhaust possibilities/?'s

car-1990 gxl, bonestcok apart from koyo rad
i need exhaust, badly.
but have questions.

obviously ebay obx is the cheapest.
and i like that they have headers available too.
but the sound would annoy the hell out of me i think.

racing beat seems too expensive for me and a bit overkill.

apexi would be my dream one but unsure about its emissions system compatibility.

corksport seems good because comes with everything in one.
http://www.corksport.com/corksport-p...haust-rx7.html
but again, sound.

greddy power extremes seem great but its only a catback and seems really heavy.

so thats what im looking at but my questions are.

Can i use an o2 sensor with the corksport and racing beat headers?

can i mix an match with minimal/no fitment issues?
like a obx/greddy system with a bonez cat.
or racing beat header with bonez and a greddy?

are any of these passenger side exits or can they be "flipped" to be passenger side exits?

and what difference is the dual vs single bonez systems?

the main goal is stock emissions compatible, sound, and price.
in that order.
keep in mind my favorite sounding one is apex.
also i cannot get JUST a catback so if i buy a catback i would have to get a cat too.

i know this is a lot but if im going to spend this much money on an exhaust im going to be very picky.
thank you in advance for any advice or insight.

are you looking to gain performance at all or no?

I don't really have any experience with NA's, but in regards to exhaust, you usually get what you pay for. The cheaper you go, the worse it sounds and the louder it gets from what I've seen in the past. And from what people have said on the forum, NA's can get loud. So remember that if you go cheap. I think that's why Racing Beat is so popular regardless of price, they strike a good balance between sound quality and loudness. But again, I'm not an NA expert. If you're unsure about sound/loudness, go to youtube and search for different exhausts on RX7's. You'll at least get an idea then.

I have an HKS silent high-power on my TII and I love it, while a buddy of mine has Corksport on his TII. The Corksport isn't as loud as my HKS or have as good of a tone in my opinion, but it's still pretty nice. And if a single exhaust is made for one side, you won't be able to simply flip it to the other because of how the hangers align and how the pipes are bent etc. I'm sure it could be done, but it'd probably be easier to make a custom exhaust

It'll all come down to your ultimate goals and what you're willing to spend. You don't want to just get a cheapie because you're anxious and then end up hating it. If your order is emissions/sound/price, I'm sure your safest bet would be Racing Beat. But bang for your buck, I'd go Corksport. Any thoughts NA drivers??

currently my exhaust is clogged so any exhaust would technically be a performance increase.
thanks for the insight TIIFC3S.
i was thinking the corksport does seem the best medium.
im assuming it supports an o2 sensor but just in case...does it?

1. the RB and corksport headers have an o2 sensor hole

2. the rb header+pre silencer = stock exhaust manifold + cats. so with the RB header/presilencer, you can use any cat back that will fit a stock FC.

3. the RB presilencer and the mazda main cat are different lengths, so to use a cat with the RB header, its not a bolt on. however it is very simple to add the 2"...

4. as far as i know, the corksport header bolts to the factory main cat.

5. the apexi N1 single is passenger side, i'm sure there are others

There is an O2 bung for the CorkSport header.

All of our exhaust parts can be used with different brands if the other brands are stock sized.

you say you love apexi, so get an apexi. They only offer a catback system for the NA as far as I know, so do that with maybe the corksport headers and a bonez high flow cat?

I believe the corksport headers bolt to stock cat and the bonez high flow is a direct replacement for the stock cat, so it should all bolt up and play nice.

Stupid loud without the silencer and the silencer takes away from the rotary tone and makes it sound more like a honda civic, if not worse. Plus the cheap and single bolt that holds the silencer in will eventually deteriorate from the aggresive vibration of the rotary exhaust and make a tin can soound. Dont get me wrong its a sick sounding exhaust especially at 8k rpm but too loud for the street and the silencer sucks. With stock exhaust manifold itll be quiter. But i suggest getting a header a high flow cat and a dual exhaust with decent mufflers. Streetable sound with power you can feel. Trust me ive gone through multiple exhasut setups to know and on an NA dual with a header is best for all around sound and power. And by dual i love the way apexi looks but i suggest better (quieter) mufflers like RB or cheaper and exhaust shop or other not open ricer can, even though they look bad *** on an FC. You cand cruise around without getting tickets or a headache but the power is still there. Just my 2 cents. Hope that helps i never put this much effort into my posts lol.

would any correct diameter silencer work with the corksport?
cause if so then i could just trash the corksport silencer and get something better maybe?

I suppose yeah, shipping and tax will bump you up into that neck of the woods.

But everyone is right, you get what you pay for. I have an apexi GT spec catback and love it.

What about the rotary works exhaust has any one had any exp with this? It's a full exhaust IIRC for a little under 500.

If you can find it cheap, get the Greddy. Its a catback only, but with the RB header and presilencer it sounds magnificent. I ran this setup for about 6 months before I wrecked my N/A. They are quiet, with great tone. Even on an N/A I couldnt really hear the thing in the cabin until about 4k rpms. Heavy as hell though...

Well it's for an fc for sure, it might only be for tii.. But maybe u can switch out the downpipe for a RB header or somethin. Idk if the turbo and na exhausts are the same besides header/downpipe

plus i have to replace the cat too.
