Exhaust porting done correctly??

Hi everybody, my Dad just bought a "new" motor for my 89 T2. He was told that the motor was ported. It looks like the front exhaust opening is not and the rear one is, like these pics. Shouldn't they both done.

thanks, ashley

It looks like the rotor is covering the port in one but they don't look ported to me. Could be just an intake port job.

rotate the engine make sure that isnt the tip of the rotor you are seeing. The monitor on my laptop is dark but thats what it reminds me of.
