deflooding...
ok i know this is a noob question, but can someone explain to me how to thoroughly deflood my rx7. it seems im having hot start issues with my t2. and im thinking its just because my cars uber flooded. plz and thanks. ive already tried searching the forum and there isnt a write up of how to properly do it.
Hot start? Flooding a FC means it will not start and cranks like it has no compression. If it starts, it 'de-floods' by running. Please describe what happens when you start the car.
I think this method works for both the S4 and S5. However, I think on the S5 you can just floor the pedal and crank it over to accomplish the same task via ecu. Anyone want to confirm this?

Sometimes removing the leading spark plugs are required so as to blow the excess fuel out of the rotor housings. When deflooding, sometimes you go through the same process a series of times before replacing the fuse pulled on an S4 and trying to actually start the car.
Also after you take that fuse out it took me cranking on if for at least a minute before i could get mine started when it got flooded.
well what happens is that i bought my 88 t2 recently and the previous owner installed a switch to the egi comp fuse under the hood that leads all the in the cabin...so with that being said i have to go through a process to start the car (crank, flip switch on, and gas) im assuming that since im pressing on the gas that im injecting fuel manually??? but the problem isnt with a cold start, because when i let it run to operating temperture and THEN turn it off. as soon as i try to restart the car the process is harder to execute. idk why. and thats where i flood the engine if it takes multiple tries to start the car...get what im saying??
i replaced the switch with the regular fuse. and same results happen. easy to start when cold but near impossible when hot
