exhaust "pooping" wtf

I drove my car on Saturday, let it sit on Sunday, and today I get in, drive a bit, and after it warms up it wont idle. It also backfires in the exhaust now on deceleration much more than before.
I did find one vac line off and replaced it. that helped
but it still does the popping and idles 100 rpm lower than it did on saturday. I can't hear any air leaks. is there something I am missing.
by the way this has nothing to do with the timming advance I talked about in a previous post tonight. it did it before and didnt stop after.

Maybe the TPS? Or clogged cat?

The repair manual refers to afterburn as a possible cause for stuff like this. How do you know if your specific poping is afterburn?

Ohh.. Poping! I thought you said pooping. That would have been a serious problem. My cats were all clogged and air was being forced out near the DP gasket and making poping sounds when I would take my foot off the gas during moderate acceleration. Not saying thats it but might wanna check it out.

mine would pop like mad when I let off the throttle and idle around 500rpms. sometimes it would bounce between 500-1200

found out the car had no TPS
put one on
problem solved
