Yep, O2. There should be a wire leading from the harness under the upper intake. Has a matching green plug.

Aaron just told you. There should be a opposite gender clip hanging out from underneath the upper intake. It's about 1' above where the exhaust port are on the engine. Look for a little white clip hanging out, with nothing attached to it. If you can't find that, it may be missing, which means you have bigger problems.

Take or find a picture and we can circle it for you.

Steve

No no, that's the tps test connector. =P You're looking at the wrong part of the engine bay. The O2 sensor wire isn't even long enough to stretch over there I don't think.

Sorry, I think I've confused you. When I said "upper intake" I meant the "upper intake manifold" which is the big aluminum thing sitting next to the intercooler. Ok, now look on the PASSENGER's side of the upper intake manifold, and look underneath it, there should be a little wire with a plug hanging out of it that I believe is white(or it could be black). Just nevermind the color, it should be hanging there with nothing attached to it. That's your connector! Plug the O2 sensor into that and you're golden. Got it?

Steve

P.S. Does anybody have a picture of this? It would be SO much simpler.

87RX7TII check the picture now

This is a wire connection not a vacuum hose.

Either way, the O2 sensor (even for a 87) has a wire that eventually finds it's way back to the ECU.

Yes this picture may not be exactly like your car but it you should have something like it.

Bingo. Lol thanks asherwood. A picture is worth a thousand garbled posts of some silly american college kid trying to explain where a plastic piece under the hood "should" be!

I tried to go outside and take a picture but it's PITCH black and I left my digital camera uncharged. But yeah, THAT's the connector.

No worries Steve! I took dozens of pictures when I was taking my engine out to have it rebuilt, just so would know where everthing went back

If your are referring to the one that I have circled, yes it is connected into the main harness. The grey coloured wrap can been seen continuing on the other side of the vacuum line.

Sorry, I don't have an '87 so I'm not sure of the color of the connector on yours (mine on the 1991 is black on the outside, yellow inside).

As for rebuilding the connection, yes as long as it is a good electrical connection (protected from the weather) it should be fine.
