Exhaust Note from GT3!!!
I am about to buy my first RX!!!!!! I really liked the exhaust note that the FC had in gran turismo 3 when you slapped on a racing exhaust. Is it possible to have that sound in real life?

What I would do, is buy a quality stainless steel exhaust that is very quiet. With that out of the way, make a digital recording of the GT3 audio for the FC exhaust. Fabricate some speakers that attach near the back of the car, facing outward. Then just have the GT3 audio file playing in a continuous loop. There you have it, a quality exhaust and the sound you like.
One thing you need to do, is make sure that the recorded shift pattern matches your driving style, so that you get that authentic feel.

So it is possible... how do you get it? yeah i did read the notice, but i dont remeber that part. All it says is to not drive like an ******* (or should i say assjack) in real life. I have read about the attention to detail that the GT series has so I wouldnt completely doubt that it is possible to have that beautiful high performance whine to my FC.
so to the main question, Which exhaust do i need to buy?:confu sed:

hmmmm...let's see. go send your RX-7 to the best exhaust shop you can find. tell them you want a completely new exhaust system. then give them a blank check. don't know if it'll sound like what you hear in GT3, but it'll sure sound like something good...
btw, i am currently running straight pipe with NO MUFFLERS (waiting for install). i can tell you, it sure sounds like something mean...i don't recommend it by the way. sounds like one of those Le Mans prototype class cars though, which is interesting to say the least...

Rx7s without any sound dampering sound like trains when they're going kinda slow... that chuga-chuga thing. And very very loud. No way you could drive that on the street without some cop from the next town over busting you heh.
Later.

Seriously though guys that exaust note from Gt3 is pretty accurate, cuz it has a very high rotary exaust tone. I mean its not like exact or anything but its pretty close. Like for example the 787B in Gt3 is also very close, it has a very loud exaust wine just like the real thing. When you race that car you can hear it from far away comming up behind you. Sorry its just that i play Gt3 a lot and im very familiar with it.
So anyways, it is possible to get that exaust tone as its basically how a fully open exaust rotary engine sounds like. If its a non turbo you need to get headers, straight pipe and a large single catback exaust system. The headers though seem to have more influence on the exact tone of the exaust.
Turbos will be quieter but still sound ****** awsome

FYI, turbo's don't use a header, they have an exhaust manifold.
Nothing you get will sound exactly like it does in the game, that should be obvious. The game portrays a "perfect" exhaust note that they think will be pleasing to the player and sound high performance bla bla bla. Anything in real life might sound like it does in the game at some points, but the game is missing the droaning, the mind numbing cruising sound that you'll get on the freeway staying at like 2-3k in 5th gear, the ear bleeding roar of straight through exhaust and n1 style mufflers at 5k to WOT, etc etc etc.
My advice, you want something that will get you noticed and sound super "high performance" get either a single n1 style exhaust like apexi, corksport, fc3s.org, etc etc etc, or a dual n1 style system of some sort. Those will be LOUD, no doubt, especially if you run it with no cat or presilencer of some sort. You want something quiet but better sounding maybe? Get full racing beat turbo-back system (this eliminates the cat and you wont pass emissions, though, in case your area has emissions).

[QUOTE=dDuB]Doesn't sound like GT3 huh? Maybe because its a GAME...
FYI, turbo's don't use a header, they have an exhaust manifold.
actually turbo cars have headers because headers are exhaust manifolds. and the reason the car sounds so good is because when gt3 was created the people at polyphony digital took recordings from the real life counterparts of the cars in the game. that is why the car sound almost exactly like they do in real life.
