The origonal iron box collector was designed to detune the rotaries racket.
The header will help flow & power noticably.
It will also amplify any intake or port work you may do in the future.
It will be louder, but your silencer should keep it reasonable.

The RB header is well worth the money.
I went the cheap route with the header kit.
Check out the links in my sig below.

I have to disagree....

If you take to the guys at Racing Beat, they will tell you that dyno results from cars with the RB down/pipe presilencer combo Vs. the full header system only showed that the header got 1 or 2 more HP than the downpipe/presilencer on a fuel injected second gen.

I've driven both setups on a pair of 89 Gtu's.. there was a SLIGHT bit more top on the header car, and I mean SLIGHT, and a SLIGHT bit more torque on the bottom on the downpipe presilencer car. BUT... we both had Racing Beat Mufflers and the NOISE from the header was retarded... that is to say, by the time i was done driving it, I felt like my head was full of beez!

I asked them about this, and they told me that the real advantage of the header is if you are going to switch the car to a holley carb setup, and it works bset on peripheral ported motors.

The pacesetter is good. I'd use it if I already had it.
If starting from scratch, the RB is slightly better quality.
My old setup was not as good, but it was cheap.

A single can make more power if it's tuned right.
A dual is not fussy about tune.

I dont know YET, I have a restrictor pipe on it temporarily untill I get my new catalytic. But even with the restrictor on it, this thing HAULS.

This thing sounds like a chainsaw on crack. I'm thinking I would rather have gone with a dual, if I could have done it again.

I've read that the rotary pulses are unlike piston engine's pulses, and are neer impossable to tune for the scavanging effect that piston engines gain from a collector; thus making the duels likely to produce better power. Also, having a collector then splitting it, without some tuned purposeful effect for it (such as an H-pipe on a piston car), will simply cause lossess.

However, for emissions controlled vehicles like mine, the duel would require TWO cats

last night I was about to instal the RB headers, but for some reason I felt like I need to cut some pipe from my exhaust in order to fit the headers....

RB headers do NOT bolt up to the stock cat.

I think the pacesetter ones do, however.
