hey folks i have a 91 FC n/a
i notice the smell of exhuast in my car months ago it wasn't that bad,
now its been getting worst. not only because its been hot in the bay area.
but its been cool this week. but why do i smell more of it now than before. also the main cat is bad. also the down pipe is welded to the main cat and the main cat is welded to the y-pipe. so could it be the welds are rusting? or the DP is not bolted completely to the exhaust manifold. i'd like to know what ya'll think.

its stays in my clothes for about an hr or 2 and on my skin i can still smell it. for the same amount of time also it makes my nose tickle on the inside.

The problem is you drive a rx7.
Mine puts out a lot of fumes, but my cats are gutted. You main cat being bad has a lot to do with it. I'm sure there are also some holes that aren't helping. Jack it up and check it out.

anyway. ive expierinced that when it comes to the fc, you need a really good quality, leak proof exhaust system. otherwise, the 13b's exhaust heat is gonna eat it. if there is even the tiniest leak in your weld, it will get bigger and bigger, until "it makes your nose tickle"

 

well right now i have a headache to be blunt... iono but after i drive the car i feel alright b-cuz i usually get out and walk a feet away and get some fresh air.
thanks for the advice i'll check it out and get the exhaust shop to weld shut them holes, when i get my main cat replaced.

 

Hey haha lay off the flames just get the car to a muffler shop and get it looked at. you might have to buy some new gaskets
