Exhaust Help!

I've searched around on the web on a few different sites. I'd personally love to have Racing Beat mufflers but I want the system to be a full 3" turbo back system.

Where can I find 3" mufflers (Racing Beat make any?), 3" y-pipe and 3" down pipe? (Thinking Corksport has the last two)

Thanks!

www.corksport.com is developing a full 3" system.

Apexi N1 duals are full 3". But pricey.

And RacingBeat has a COMPLETE 3" turbo back system. but it's marked as "COMPLETE" ... not the one you buy in peices. that's 2.5"

LOL.

I get pretty damn good prices on muffler piping. like 290 for full 2.5" stainless with a resonator, that in CND funds btw.
So I could just buy some 3" mufflers from Apex'i or HKS and have a y-pipe made and get a down pipe from Corksport.

However I've been told that Racing Beat mufflers last...well forever.

he means design your own system using products that arent advertised for specific use on rx7s..

and if you think about it.. making a muffler isnt really hard if you know how to weld and have the materials.. the trick is making it actually work and last past a week

you can buy quality generic use stainless steel mufflers at many different shops.. just cause it doesnt have racing beat imprinted on the muffler doesnt mean its going to sound crappy..

I believe RB does make a full 3" exhaust system.

The N1s have like a 2.5" inlet for the Y-pipe so it can connect to the stock exhaust system.

I'd go with corksport, any muffler(s) you want and have a shop fab it up for you.

Hmmm....I might get APEX'i mufflers or HKS (there 3" universal mufflers) to save cost a bit and have a y-pipe fabed up.

Which flows better though? APEX'i or HKS?

I did, and it cost $1,600 for the 3" 321 SS turbo-back fabrication, and an additional $1,000 for the two N1 mufflers and cat, for a grand total of $2,600.

Yikes.

I just need a y-pipe made, so it should cost less right?

I'll get a 3" cat later before emissions rolls around.

What in the hell did you build it out of gold???

It cost me like $200 bucks to build by exhaust and another $140 or so for the RB road race header. And your going to say it didn't go all the way to the back.... Well I could have extended it to the rear for another 30 bucks, and 1 hour of work.

And man I must say you really got shafted if you paid that much for an exhaust system, and it wasn't made of gold!

Also did you pay someone to build it, or did you do the welding your self???

i wouldnt pay more than 500 bucks for an all installed, muffler included, stainless steel exhaust system from the manifold back.

l&n in burford will do it for less than 500, so thats where i go..

it cost me 40 bucks to lob off both cats and install a stainless steel mandrel bend pipe in its place at that place! pretty good considering any other shop i called said "we will charge by labour, labour is 69 per hour, and a job like that should take over an hour."

that made me laugh..

20 minutes and 40 bucks later at l&n, welded up a stainless mandrel replacement
