Exhaust Gas Temp

Does anyone know what normal EGTemp is for a s4 t2. It seems that my temp has been going to 700. Maybe caus it's been hot here in Toronto lately. It seems like a week ago even in the evening when it is cool my egt wouldn't move past 200. Now it seems that when I am accellerating but not redlining every gear it stays at like 500 steady. Then when I stop it goes back down.

My specs are: 1987 s4 t2 89xxxkms. hks to4e turbo, hks manifold, hks fmic, hks secondary injectors and controller, greddy turbo timer, rb cat back exhaust, hks intake, ultm racing beat ret hot wires, denso poer-up igniter.

Normally, over 3kRPM, you're supposed to be seeing 600...700C+ no problem.
If you're seeing only 200C, something is wrong.

A tiny bit off topic, but where are you suppose to mount the probe for the most accurate reading?

egt

actually I was reading it wrong. it would stay at the 400 level b4 even on hard accelleration. Now on revving at 3000-3500 around town it stays around 500-600 and pushing it it goes to like 1200. I don't think that's right.

I know this is probably not the reason but because I was fiddling with the rad cap with is actually not on the rad and it wasn't tightened all the way be a reason. I actually just went to the car and read the temp numbers and checked the cap again and took it off and put it on again properly though b/c I tightened it another quarter turn. ( I know I sound like a newbie tightening a rad cap).

I actually wanted to add the coolant additive water wetter or something like that to lower the temp but instead the temp went higher . I don't think it is b/c of the additive b/c when I opened the rad cap the coolant was full so I put the additive in the coolant over fill bottle which didn't have much coolant.

Sorry if my questions sound silly. I'm actually scared b/c of my mileage almost getting to 100kms that my motor is getting ready to go...
