Exhaust?
looks to me like that's strictly cat-back. So yes, if something needs to be done with your cat, you'll need to buy more stuff, whether it be a new cat, or a cat-replacement pipe.
The removable silencer is, I believe, just something you stick into the exhaust tip, similar to what apexi systems come with.
post vids when you get it all hooked up, i'm curious as to how it will sound.

yeah i know what the silencer is...
but one of the bolts broke off my cat so i have a HUGE leak...
and ill get pics and try to get some decent audio when it comes in.
but looks like its time to go to the WTB section...

It's probably because single exit catless NA RX-7's are loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage to people inside and nearby. You don't have a header yet though, so at least some part of the noise should be killed by the diffusers in the exhaust ports and bounce around the cast-iron manifold some.

yeah i like the look of single.
since my car is NA i might as well go for looks then try to go performance and practical.
and im probably going to end up selling this one.. i want another turboII

It looks like the pipe coming out of the muffler is pretty small.
Also it says 13b not 13bt id say the odds are against you that it is the right thing.
Im the first guy to go for solid motor and tranny mounts, a less streetable clutch, a laggy turbo, but loud exhaust sucks. Its cool at first but when you have to be constantly looking out for the law it really makes driving much less enjoyable. Just something to consider.
I would recommend Racing beat

Probably won't shoot flames because you need a staight through exhaust. Cats keep the flamage to a minimum. Plus IMO I think that having the flames from the tail pipe is cool sometimes, but it attracts a lot of unwanted attention. But it's your car...
I agree. I get slight pops with my cats. When I took my catback straight off, I had pops and sparks coming out. Thats a sign that the cats are doing their job and keeping the flames inside the cat. With a straight pipe in place of the cats, I would get flames for sure. Chances are unless you're already backfiring, you're not going to be getting flames with just a catback replacement.
I'd say theres a good chance you might pop flames IF you gut your cat as much as possible AND you're already backfiring.
is there any other advantages to gutting the cat? like power increase or anything like that? just wondering because I'm in the process of putting new struts on and the car is jacked up as it is. I'm just waiting for the spring compressor tool to come back to advance auto so i can put the spring on the new struts

1) Its cheaper (costs nothing because it uses what you already have)
2) If a cop checks to see if you have a cat, you legitimately do
ok well i orderd the strait thru exhaust and strat thru cat...
but my friend said i would loose power becoause my car is NA and thair wont be enough back pressure for the 5th and 6th ports to open....?

Probably true. On the 86-88 the 5th and 6th ports do open using back pressure. But you can do a mod to have them open anyways, using a cheap electric air pump.
