Is a 86 NA main cat the same as a 87 turbo2 cat?

NO. The Turbo II exhaust system will not work on an NA.

Besides, why bolt on the clogged OEM stuff anyway, go get a performance catalytic converter, downpipe, and nice cataback exhaust NOW!!!

it will bolt up but you will lose all 5&6 port actuation unless you wire them open (which sux)or get rpm activated switch or use a t or y valve for the back preasure.

nahhh im was wondering i have a turbo and i whated to take a NA main cat cut the cat out and weld a straght pipe in.

as far as i know, no. They are not interchangeable. However, why would you want to do that? Shell out a few bucks for a Bonez Race Pipe. Very good quality peice, and it won't sound like ****.
