I would recommend the Racing Beat cat-back system. Mazdatrix had a price of 574.00 for it in 1997 (the year my last price list from them was printed).

I bought an HKS system (a little louder than the Racing Beat I think) cat back system for only 50.00 at the junk yard and put it on myself in a couple hours. I would recommend looking in the salvage yards if you want to save a lot of $

Your asking to plain of a question....you need to specify what exactly do you want. There are plenty of exhuast systems out there to suit your need.

I think the Apex-i GT Spec exhaust is one of the highest flowing exhausts out there. It has about 3.75" piping I think. It's probably pretty damn loud though.

The RB true dual gives "about" the most HP. I say "about" because It depends on what else you've got done to your car, also on if aftermarket or custom piping.

Which exhaust is best depends on what modifications you have (or have planned) for you RX-7. It'll affect what piping size and which muffler/cat you want.

I think you will need a catalytic convertor to pass smog. So your setup could be a header, highflow cat, and cat-back. My setup will probably end up being the RB header / presilencer with a highflow cat on each segment of the Y-pipe of my catback, and then the HKS mufflers. This should pass smog with two cats to clean up the emmissions with. I also want to quiet it down a tad. It sounds fantastic but just too loud for normal driving in my opinion.

I got RB downpipe + presilencer and JIC dual spartan on my car. I love it. Not quite as loud as the Corksport (which got me into lots of trouble) but looks great being a dual exhaust.

I have Corksport catback with Bonez highflow cat. running it off the stock manifold, and it gives good power, big difference over stock. My setup is loud as ****, and i get pulled over for it often, but its worth it......trust me its a very very good sound. I hardly turn my stereo on anymore just cause I like hearing my car accelerate.

Here is a good link . I was wondering if anyone here was running the N1 single side exhaust system and how they like that one? Also what do they mean by piping diameter 65 -70 -85? Is that different sizes available or just the piping changes between those sizes?

Well I am going to be running a S5 TII intermediate housing, and maybe some TII rotor housings, with S4 rotors. A small street port, port and polish the intake. I am going to be running a Mazdatrix grey area header/cat combo.

exhaust

Is your emissions law in the usa higher than the uk then?

I have a straight through exhaust system no cat no middle box and hardly any rear silencer with 5" tailpipes,
Its very loud.

Check this site for exhaust modifacations it will make you laugh.

I'm assuming your porting the exhaust as well. I think the new Racing Beat cat back is best for you. The singles will probably be too loud if your worried about getting pulled. I've had my setup for 2 years and been pulled once.

RX7.com high flow cat and downpipe
RX7.com 50mm cat back

M'trix says 50mm is the optimum size, perhaps 60mm with a big intake & exhaust port job. The larger you go, the higher your power curve moves up the RPM band. M'trix has some good articles on which exhaust to choose.
