Exedy cluch install problems
I picked up a exedy 10025 kit. 225mm 22 spline. Everything went together ok, trans was a bitch to reinstall though. After putting everything back together the slave plunger has about a finger worth of space and doesn't touch. The disc is making contact, you can turn the gear on the trans and its making contact with the engine. Not sure why there is still too much space.
It's got a new master and slave and cable a couple months back. clutch pedal go's to the floor with no resistance.
Car is a 87 GXL Any thoughts on why this would be? Before taking it apart, the car drove with a tight pedal. Granted the clutch was worn down just about to the end. Slipped above 55 or so, but still drove and engaged ok. Any help would be appreciated.
I can take some pics tonight and post them.

I just put an Exedy HD clutch in my vert. Car is in the air in its natural habitat (on jackstands, of course). When the engine is running, trans in neutral, the wheels are stopped.
When the engine is running, clutch pedal is down, put in 1st gear, PEDAL STILL DOWN (by the force of my foot), tires are moving.
Clutch pedal need adjustment?

different problem, yours sounds like a clutch disc installed backwards. OP's problem sounds like a brainfart, forgot to install the throwout bearing.
i have seen the stickers on backwards on some clutches(flywheel side), in particular i believe that was an ACT clutch kit though as Exedy doesn't put stickers on.
but before wasting time with it apply the parking brake and try putting it in gear, if it won't go in with the engine running then turn the car off, put it in first and restart the car. if it won't crank then yes, see the above. a broken pilot bearing will also give the same result, with the same repair process, removing the transmission and clutch.

This is starting to worry me.
Did the parking brake thing... couldn't get it into gear. Once its in gear though, I can hit the brakes and stop the tires with the clutch pushed in. When I release the brake, they start spinning again... so not too much force causing the wheels to turn, which made me think it may be a hydraulic issue.
Anyway, the picture is attached... if you zoom in, you can see the "t/m side".... and assuming that means "transmission" means its facing the wrong way. the pilot bearing is the new one supplied with the clutch.
