Exaust is on but Probs

Ok guys I finally got my damn exaust. It was put on the same day as I got it. It is a bonez race pipe along with a Corksport SS single cat back. Ok now I know I do run premix and I know burning oil comes out blue. My smoke is definitely blue. So could me running premix cause the car to blow blue smoke all the time? It isn't really that much but it is there so I was just wondering. Oh and there is some white smoke, but that is almost worn off. It is the smoke from all the Deep Creep I used on the manifold bolts. Anyway I was just wondering if that is really normal to smoke ALL the time when running premix? Or is it just the new exaust wearing in?

Did you disable your OMP? How much premix?

My OMP is disabled, I run 100:1 (1 oz per gallon), and I get some smoke (don't start the car inside the garage, otherwise not really noticable)..

Ive never had any experience with it, but id suspect if you ran premix with the OMP still working, with a straight through exhaust like you have, that youd smoke alot, all the time. What year car do you have, because on S4 the mechanical OMP is very reliable, and there shouldnt be a need to run premix. Probably woulnt hurt, but also preobably not necessary.

Nope, S5 sorry about that guys...I am not totally sure how great the MOP is so I run premix. So yeah with a working MOP and strait through I should expect constant smoke?

To check for worn oil seals, take it to 6500 in third then let it back down (during deceleration it sucks hard on the seals) then WOT and look in the mirror. If that's it, I'd start saving for an engine rebuild (and port job while your at it). A dose of "motor honey" will buy you some time.

1oz:1gallon is ~128:1 which is a little lean and shouldn't smoke.

I would think that the hot burning rotary shouldn't smoke much unless it has issues.
I only smoke when it is richer than 64:1 or when the engine is cold.
Also, mix the gas/oil by shaking(ol' shock test) the back of the car after it has been sitting a while.

My old carb'd Mercury 2-stroke ran 50:1 and lightly smoked(have to shake fuel tank). At 25:1(breakin), it smoked more. The 2-stroke had a whitish color to the exhaust. Must be the 2 cycle oil. It was never really blue/black like how worn piston engines get.

How much are you mixing with each tank of gas?
What oil are you using?
Try using a thinner oil like ATF/MMO. This would provide enough engine insurance without as much smoke.

Just a thought: Disconnect electronic MOP by running zip-tied silicon hose from the OMP to the oil fill neck or cap.

how about this thought, ask corksport if they use a lubricant when they package or bend the cat back. if they do it's more than likely this lubricant burning off.

Yeah that is what I am thinking as well. I almost imagine it is that since I never smoked with the stock exaust at all. My motor is worn but not dead. I probably still have another good 100,000 miles since I just rolled over at that point. Plus the car doesn't get to run that much so I don't know.
