everyone clean your connections

This weekend I did a lot of things to my car which included changeing the upper manifold to one I ported. when I put everything back together, I had problems that seemed like fuel cut at 3000 RPM. After a lot of cussing and irritation. I found corrosion on my TPS. I cleaned it up and took it for a run. everything was fine so I went back under the hood to cleen more connections. I used emery cloth and electrical contact cleaner.
Long story short. I fixed several things that have been bothering me.
My 3800 hesitaion is now finaly gone. My throttle reponse is even better than before with the ported manifold. My voltometer reads 2 volts higher. and believe it or not I am running at least 20 degrees cooler.
all this just from cleaning every electrical contact I could find.

everyone should do the same.

yeah I was looking at some of mine, and thought damn I need to clean them. Where did you get the cleaner and emery cloth? I could probably fix a few of my problems with this.

Cleaning connections helped me out too when my A/C stopped working. I thought it was low on freon, but it wasn't, thought I would have to solder the logicon or get a new relay but I just cleaned up the connections by the receiver/drier and it fixed it.

No... you can't spray it with water. water is what caused the corrosion in the first place. electrical contact cleaner is in any auto parts stor and emery cloth should be too. if you can't find contact cleaner at a parts stor go to radio shack. you should also be able to get the stuff at Walmart but I have never looked.

Can you still get the correct Ohm reading ( Multi-meter ) when there's enough corrosion to impact your car's... performance?

Home Depot has contact cleaner also. Every car maintenance kit should have a can along with Carb cleaner and silicone spray lube.
