well i had my engine torn apart today because its getting rebuilt at this place called rotary performance engines
my stepdad bought this car for me and the guy said he rebuilt it himself
well i went to look at the engine....
if i had pictures it would just be too depressing to look at them
instead of using actual seals the guy had used some sort of silicone for most of the seals
parts of the chrome was warped and chipped
only the outer housings or the things at the end (dont know what there called so if somone wants to post waht they are caled id be eernally greatful) and the rotors are reusable
the housings themselves were chipping when he was just tapping the engine apart
hopefully he has good housings in his shop to replace mines and the cost wont be too much
i will update as this goes along

That doesn't seem like a bad rebuild to me...
chrome flaking is usually a sign of just very high mileage. The housings are just tired and old and need to be replaced.
Silicon in place of gaskets.. i've heard of stranger things. This is how alot of people rebuild 13B's
