Engine wont run after engine swap

Hi All,
Long time lurker, first time poster. Im sitting here banging my head against the wall after spending countless hours trying to get this car to run. Long story short I I got into a accident and it crushed the body of my vert 88 FC S4, but the engine would run and drive so i swapped it into a donor shell of the same year and model. Completed the install with no issues and now when trying to start the car i have crank but it wont start. I have air and ignition but no fuel. Spraying starter fluid in the throttle body it’ll run for a sec but then die because no fuel. Ive got fuel to the fuel rails and 12v to the injectors. Egi and driver side fuse is good. I haven't tested the injectors fully outside the engine but they worked fine prior to the swap and Ive swapped them out to a different set and same issue so i don't think its the injectors themselves. Oddly enough, after swapping injectors they injected for a moment and then stopped back to fuelless crank. I swapped out the ecu and AFM to test and no difference. I haven't hit the pins on the ecu side connector with a multimeter yet but that, or just swapping out the emissions harness my next step if noone has a solution I'm not thinking about. I followed these two threads but neither solved my issue.

Here are two vids, one of the typical crank and one of the crank right after installing the new injectors.

Anyone have any other suggestions before I slam my head into the engine block lol?

Hello!
Fellow 88 vert here myself. Been banging my head right along with ya, and not because I like heavy metal music.

Have you tried holding open the MAF sensor flap underneath the air filter with a friend? Get a screw driver and hold her open and see if she runs. Thats my current situation. Car will not run unless that MAF sensor is taped wide open.
I've been chasing a vacuum leak because the logic says its not pulling in enough air to keep the door open on its own.

My hunts for a vacuum leak are coming up short. I've pumped so much smoke in this car, it will get 2nd hand lung cancer soon.
I'm currently theorizing that its because my exhaust system is so bad, that its the culprit by not creating a good pull of air flow or something something.

But curious if you're in the same boat with me on that MAF sensor?

What are the manufacture dates on both cars? The vert may be a later model that does not require the resistor pack for the injectors. Early '88 and older S4's had low impedance fuel injectors with a ballast resistor pack near the right side headlight. Late model '88 had high impedance injectors from the factory.

Without getting too fancy, crank it over and if you're plug comes out dry (pull the trailing, it seems to get wetter) then you know you have an issue with your fuel system.

your tach should bounce if you are getting ignition and injector signals. saying you have fuel at the rails doesn't really tell us anything. check your fuel pressure, people keep wanting to ignore this step.

the fact it starts and runs on starting fluid indicates you aren't getting fuel, rather than say a stuck open injector giving too much fuel and flooding the engine.

I made a post just like this 15 years ago and thought theres no way I screwed the fuel lines up. Until I realized that yeah, I put the in and out lines in backwards. Try that.
