Engine Throbs
Hey Guys
New to forum, just put my 7 on the road and it's been great so far. However earlier today a NEW problem has developed. The engine seems to throb (like I was tapping the throttle) not only does it do this at idle but even when I give a little gas it just throbs faster. It seems to be driving fine has plenty of power but very annoying at stop lights. If it's any help I have a K&N cone intake and a custom catback exhaust (single pipe )
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you got yourself a vacuum leak! fiddle around under the hood and see if you cant find it...if not there are ways...spraying carb cleaner, soapy water, etc. If its messing up your idle Id assume that if you stuck your head under the hood you could hear it, should be a decent sized leak.

thats a TPS problem. my car did the same thing when i screwed with my TPS. a vacuum leak would be a rough unsteady idle like robbrrrpoopopoopouhhuubbbbpopoprrrbubub, but this problem is more like ruhbooruhbooruhbooruhbooruhboo like someone was flooring it, the letting off, the flooring it then letting off etc. i adjusted mine and it got a lot better but still does it sometimes when my car is warming up. so adjust your TPS. i've heard the ohms method is the best way, but for me the volts method gave me better results.

yes, it's a tps problem it's due to the air filter and exhaust change. the ohm meter method is more accurate but, i have found the two light method is much easier and not much less accurate. adjust and you will be fine

Try cleaning your AFM and the throttle body, use throttle body cleaner only and clean the inside out, it sounds like you have some crud in the AFM and is making it difficult to operate. Just seen this 2 days ago.
Take the AFM off the car and spray it out, make sure the door inside opens and closes easy and doesn't catch or move slowly.
When you are done cleaning, pull the plugs and pull the first fuse towards the engine on the drivers shock tower.
Hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the car over for about 15 seconds, or once the mist stops coming from the open spark plug holes.
Put it back together and welcome the faster throttle response and no more problems.
