Engine Thermostat

Anybody know what temeprature the stock engine thermostat opens up at. Any suggestions on mazda oem or should i get a aftermarket one that opens up at about 160'C to lessen the chance of over heat.

As stated, use an OEM thermostat.
Just an FYI-A lower thermostat will open sooner, but will not prevent the engine from overheating. Once the 'stat is opened and engine up to temp, it doesn't do any work unless in cold climates, then it will open and close to keep the engine within operating temperature.

Get an OEM one and use this part number #8AF6-15-171.

Make sure it has a jiggle pin. Dont use this part number 8AF6-15-171-9U as Mazda may say it works. Mazda gave me this part number with the -9U and it didnt work. It didnt have the jiggle pin. So make sure they give you the right one.
