Engine Temperature

i searched but did not find somehtign suitable to what i was looking at.
my car runs unusually cold. runs 1/4 temp doesnt move up much at all even when i drive it a little hard, could this be due to a sticky thermostat or some sensor. i have flushed the rad and engine out and it runs cooler but im unsure that when summer comes around when drift season is back whether itll overheat and cook the motor and then ill be broke any ideas guys?

Wait, I thought it was good to keep your engine cold. You want it to run normal temp? Have you tried running the car for like an hour to see if it will warm up? I can't understand why it would stay like that. Unless your running dry ice in your cooling system or nitrogen.lol

s4 or s5? S4's are usually 1/4 of the way up for normal and s5's are half way.

I will second that S4 run 1/4 and S5 runs 1/2

did you bleed the system on the side of radiator?

Again...
PLEASE GET AN AFTERMARKET WATER TEMP GAUGE!
Telling us "1/2" or "1/3" or "1/4" don't tell us jack ****.
Give us more accurate numbers from a REAL water temp gauge if you really want some help.
Summit Racing sells a bunch under $50, so it's NO EXCUSE.

You can test your thermostat by taking it out of the car and putting it in a pot of hot water or heating it up to the preset limit. The wax pellet should expand and it should open once heated up.

that was next on the list, but im sorry i want it sorted by sunday , so summit racing is a no go since AU designates Australia... ill whip thermostat out ( any known problems for running no Thermostat), the factory gauge just checked it after driving home from work it sits just above the =C mark ie one needle width above which means i know its lying but it doest smell like its overheating

^x2??? Why would you even leave it at a shop for 2months for a clutch job?

If you have a s4 then 1/4 way up is NORMAL. Nothing to worry about.

My 88 GTU runs cool all the time. The temp needle never goes over 1/4 even when driving in stop & go traffic & the air temp is 95+.

because the engine that was in the car was just a stocky type rebuild ( approx 6 months old ) and ive recently heard about dodge stuff they do so yeah if theyve changed it loooks like a full race extendport engine for me ... as when i bought the car i made the effort fo cleaning the area where the egine no. was and i got a pretty good memory. number appears to look different but not only that the area is no longer cleaned it looks the same as the rest of the plate.

Acoording to my gauges (s4 with both stock and aftermarket, on separate senders) 1/4 up is ~185 deg.

^Not normal from all the s4's that ive seen. I would put a thermostat in it but that probly wont take care of your problem.
