pinion snubber install issues

http://www.jegs.com/i/Energy%20Suspe...9101G/10002/-1

i purchased the energy suspention snubber list above and i have to shim it down almost 1.5 inches for it to preload on the diff, i tryed the couple of fender washers and i could still fit my finger inbetween the diff and the bottom of the snubber, now that i have to shim it this much i also have to extend the 3/8 stud on the snubber itself just so i can get a nut on it. donno if it changes anything but i do have a t2 rear end. any reason why i have to shim it so much, and i am positive i have it in the right place.

Did you drill the dimple located between the 2 bins? I put mine there and it touches with only a few washers to preload it. Although I will need to relocate it more later because it is not fully seated on the diff.
