This looks normal to me my lady. It will be a little higher when the temperature warms up. How long have you had the car? I would say you have nothing to worry about. I am sure others will chime in.

Owned since Friday, traced a short to a shotty security system install job and finally it doesn't drain the battery over night because when I parked it and went out to start it it was dead. I confirmed there was current draw when the car was off so I started digging and found what you see. The goal is to bring it back to normal before going crazy with modifications.

HEY, somebody did a crappy job on a security system, my 87 was having issues until I ripped out the aftermarket alarm.

The temp looks good but your volt meter is a little low (dont be alarmed or freak out), was this pic with the car running and what accessories did you have on if the car was running?

Lights, wipers, radio, and defrost. I really want to upgrade to the 130 amp system that I was reading about previous.

Thats actually where mine sits when I have all my accessories on, a/c blower, radio, lights etc, if you measure with a volt meter it should be around 13 to 13.3 which is not the end of the world with that much draw on the system, with everything off I am around 14 to 14.3 I might see 13.9 sometimes, and this is all coming from a new alternator from autozone. If your not running a bunch of stereo and amps stuff I would not worry about the alt. upgrade, If it aint broke dont fix it.

Now lets see some pics of the car.

Make sure to use an actual multimeter to check the voltage (use the cigarette socket), as the stock gauge is pretty old and not necessarily accurate. Mine reads just below 12V when actual voltage is 13.9, and 10V when actual voltage is 12.

I said volt meter but I meant to say multimeter, I also like to check at idle and 2,000 rpm.

It wasn't my intention to correct you, I just wanted to make sure she didn't try to use the stock gauge (which can also be called a Volt Meter).

Also that is a very good point, test at idle and with elevated engine speed.

I didnt take offense, no worries I noticed after you mentioned it, and you made a good point, so I wanted to make sure that she used the proper tools also.

I know some we're asking about pictures, so instead of polluting this feed with non technical things, I posted the pics to the proper thread discussion area. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati.../#post12210232
