Ok, just had a thought brewin up. I was thinkin of rebuilding an 86-88 n/a motor, with a street port, lighter, higher compression rotors from later n/a cars, 3mm apex seals, ported upper intake manifold, etc. etc. Just wanted to know if I would need a computer out of an 89+ n/a car? And, if I do, what other compatibility problems could arise? Thanks in advance for the help.

 

If I were you, I'd stay with 2mm seals on an NA. You shouldn't need the 89+ computer unless you try to run the VDI intake. Make sure you get the whole 89+ rotating assembly to keep it balanced. Also some TII rotor housings if you want to port the exhaust side (And who doesn't ? ).
