Engine Swap

I recently found a 88' Turob II in my area with a realy clean body but with a n/a engine and tranny that needs major repair. Instead of reparing the engine, i was thinking of replacing it with a Turbo II stock engine.

Ive done some research on engine, tranny ecu, harnesses, etc. prices and avaliability but was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers on places that i might find a good deal and not get screwed over on. Thanks.

Yeah, i know its strange. Apparently this guy who is selling the car blew the original Turbo II motor and instead of replacing the engine, he dropped in a n/a engine and transmission from another RX-7 that he owned.

Well i went over the numbers and found that i would probably be paying around 4-5k to get this is good mechanical order. The car itself is about 1,500 and the engine, tranny, and ecu would probably be around 1.5 to 2.5k. I don't have the expertise or tools to drop the engine in on my own so installation will be about 1k at a rotary specialty shop near here. Im trying to figure out weather or not this cost is justified though.
