helping a fellow rx-7er
I just helped my friend get his first car. Its a 1990 GXL with 90,1XX miles, came with HKS intake and full racing beat exhaust system. The car has some shoddy gold paint and i can tell it was red before. He wants to make sure it runs good and wants to do a full tune up. Also its an auto and don't say do a 5-speed swap because he cant drive stick. what should he do to it? I told him already that he needs new tires, spark plugs, fluids changed and maybe some other stuff. When its nice out and when he gets a new battery then im going to compression test it. So anyone have some ideas what to do first? and also he paid 2g which i thought was pretty reasonable.
ahaha yeah thats funny it has red interior and its from shirley. The pic on craigslist made the car look better than it really was but it still is a pretty soild car.

And tell him to learn how to drive a stick. It's not rocket science.

you should learn to drive a stick as part of your drivers license test, when I was 15 i wasnt allowed to get my license until i could drive one, glad my dad made me learn to drive that way
what happens if you are in a situation where you MUST drive one?

Loki101 He learned at 55? Why didnt he learn earilyer? All those years and no fun with stick? OMG lol
and 311unity thats cool your dad MADE you do that, I didnt want to try automatic i went straight to stick because of learning young on ATVs already gave me a good understanding.
I remember the first time ever driving was my dads rx-7 when he broke his right arm and left his car at work. We went there and he let me drive back without a permit or even learning yet. I only stalled once because the car wasn't fully warmed up and i didnt slip the clutch either. I was so proud of myself that day. haha
