Question Engine Swap?

I have a black on black leather convertible 91 RX7. Its an automatic with a non-turbo 13B. I am considering an engine swap to a turbo II w/manual trans (of course). Is this worth trying? I am currently having a compression test run on the existing engine at my local rotor head shop. They say they can make the swap for under 5K. Is this a fair price? Any feedback is appreciated.

in my honest opinion i would say sell it and buy yourself another one that either has a manual or a TII motor, or both. plus hard tops are better anyways, IMO. for 5 k u can find urself a manual and TII and doent have to go with the hasle of changing everything out. plus u get the lsd and such with a TII. oh and that price might be more expensive, shop prices can tend to inflate out of nowhere

Keep the Vert for the weekends and summer. Take the 5k and buy yourself a good TII and have to rx-7's

If your engine is BLOWN then do the swap if you want to keep the vert. If you want speed get an S4 N/a and swap or an S4 TII both are lighter than S5's.

T2 verts are the ****...I'm in the process of doing my swap right now. I say go for it. $5k sounds a little steep, depending on whats included (engine, trans, and rear or just the engine etc) and what condition the t2 motor is in. I just bought a T2 and am doing the swap myself.
