while driving down the freeway, i usually try and keep the thoughts of hearing a loud bang, then suddenly losing half the engines power shoved waaay back there in the back of my mind. like in the area even behind the thoughts of christmas shopping

 

I wish that was the case for me welfare. But I'm the one of person that gets a nail in their tire, hears that tap tap tap on the pavement, and becomes paranoid about internal engine damage. One time a shredded a PS belt on my drive home, and I heard that repetitive banging on the aluminum hood, and was already assuming the worst. That being said, this whole thing is a nightmare for me.

 

well, i guess it all depends on whether or not you feel the outcome will be worth the effort. that's all problems ever boil down to really.
could pick up a beater for 500$ and drive that as a daily. put the fc off to the side while you assess/gather parts. i daily mine. but i do have another plan b vehicle. i'm sure a lot of people here don't use their rotary as their primary vehicle either

 

Mine was my one and only daily. I am looking into a 2015 Honda fit...
