engine smoke @ high rpms?

my engine smokes @ around 5k but not any lower than that just woundering if anyone knows what could be wrong. Thanks

What colour of the smoke is it?
If it is white, the high RPMs could be taking in a lot of coolant meaning a rebuild is on the way!

mine does that too. Its grey smoke after a backfire though.

white smoke

It is white smoke, it smokes when I first start it but after it warms up it goes away unil I hit high rpms.

how old is the engine? turbo or non?
