Engine Rebuilt? Any Easy Way To Know Or Not?
I have put 3 thousand miles on car since I bought 5 months ago. Changed oil and filter, and got me curious. The oil is just as clear, tan, as if I had just put it in. No discoloration at all. I'm not complaining one bit, plugs are top notch also. Just curious. And as previously stated, compression on leading and trailing warmed up at WOT is still around 115 on all. 1990 FC3C n/a 151 thou miles.

Thats pretty good compression for that many miles. It's prob a rebuild, but it might have just been really well taken care of. Sorry I didn't quite answer your question, but I don't know of any sure way to tell.
Sounds like you bought a rebuilt motor. Thoughs compression numbers are in tolerance from a freshly broke in motor. If it is somehow not rebuilt then all I can say is WOW great find! And enjoy your REX.
Ok, thanks for the answers. The more I look, externally, just so clean. I was going to start to pre-mix, but after checking OMP and seeing very little carbon build up throttle body and plates, I think I'll stick with what's working.
