Engine Rebuild question.

I am about to slap some new parts in my engine. Sure ill blow things off wipe things down. But Do the stationary Gears Need to come off? Or can i leave them on and slap things together? I Know most start from scratch paint housings and irons. But i dont have the paint or the time to do all that Right now, Can i Leave the stationary Gears, and the oilpump. and other small parts On when doing just an apex sideseals and oil control Ring change? you need to at least remove the rear stat gear, the rear iron cannot be installed with the stat gear still attached.

the oil pump is 4 bolts, take it off as well as everything else in the front of the engine, it all can be reinstalled easily.

You're basically asking if you can rebuild the engine without cleaning it? You need to clean everything before it can be reassembled, and in order to clean it, you must disassemble it.

I wouldn't just "slap" things together. It's a very detailed process.

Ok well that brings me to another question. Is it a problem to use wheel bearing greese to keep the sideseals and apex seals in? I have a ton of it. Or do i need to stick with vasoline?

Bearing grease shouldn't be an issue. Assembly grease would be better. But Vaseline is typically used because it melts off quickly and doesn't smoke forever.
