So ill be driving my car and quite often when I accelerate up to 2900 and keep it there I will get hiccups in my engine periodically if it is left at that speed. this never happens if I accelerate quickly such as being in first or second gear. I plan on checking the fuel system. Any ideas?

 

sounds like a hesitation problem. Search the forum for hesitation and you will probably find your answer.
