engine pull and overhaul question
so since i need to either pull my engine and rebuild it or swap the engine, ill ask you guys which would be the better route to go? pulling the engine doesnt scare me too much but once i have it out and apart how hard is it to replace the apex seals and oil rings and whatever else i would need to do while im in there ? or the other way, finding another engine (running) in the area and just swapping them ? which would be the easier route, and how much would another engine cost as opposed to the parts for replacing the apex seals, and where would one find a running rotary engine? I know this issue is probably discussed alot and i appologize for gumming up the forums, if someone just links me id be happy with that. thanks guys.

doing the internal engine work [other than cleaning which I didn't do], is really easier than it seems - I *was* terrified of doing it myself... But now I've got a GXL with a running motor infront of the house ^_-
Go buy a copy of Atkins rebuild video.. Once you watch that you shouldn't have any problems ^_^

My 7 is a '89 GTU n/a with a 5 spd trans (if that matters). I have a brother who did a oldsmobile V6 engine swap a few months ago and he did that in 3 long days by himself. Ill have him helping me so im not so worried about getting the engine out as i am of getting inside of it because ive seen internals of plenty of piston engines but never rotary. I will probably just rebuild this one, that way i will know it is fresh instead of buying a 'rebuilt' engine since who the hell knows if it is or not. Im thinking ill attempt it during a long weekend in 2 maybe 3 weeks, once i get all the parts ordered. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks guys.
