engine problems!!!!

ok this morning i woke up got ready for school started the car everythign went smooth all the way to school. get out of school i realise i left the key on 1 knotch (my key falls out) but its started right up. it had just rained and it was alil chilly out so i let the car warm up alil till i got some heat. left school got to the stop light green go i went didnt even beat on the engine 2nd gear i felt extreeme loss of power!! so i pulled over it was idling at like 250, i tried turnign the car off and on but still low rpm but i eneded up driving it home anyways (probly not good) horably slow flooring it it was like a snail in first gear. now i got home from work after not driving it for awhile i got in and it started right up purring like brand new. umm is it screwing with me and if so whats wrong. btw its a 87 n/a with a recent engine swap from a 146,000 mile engine to a 120,000 mile engine. the car sat 2 years befor i bought it and it sat around 4-5 months after. ples tell me what could be wrong or what hopefully isnt wrong( spex seals )thanks

have you checked you grounds I think the most important one is behind the engine going up to the firewall a little prong connecting to a tang loosen them and clean and put back on

ya it's easy to see in the middle ,it comes up high on the firewall and you should be able to rent a compression tester or buy one for about 25 dollars from autozone and check your compression it wouldn't be a bad idea to check it could save you from messing up a housing and rotor

ok ive come to a conclusion its not electrical , and that it may be vacume or fuel injectors. cus at idling it idles really low i bring it up around 3 grand maybe 3,500 and it seem the other rotar is workign or its gettign sufficiant fuel. and it revs normal it has alot of response but below that it has none at all. and i just found a huge coolant leak at the heater core connection. which injectors are for idle secondary or primary. and which injectors are ontop of fuel rail and which injectors are under the intake manifold?because i wanna clean the ones that make the car idle and if there under the intake manifold its gonna take longer than i want but it will get done.
