engine problem -- making me crazy
Hey, I hope you folks can help me out with this. My '87 Turbo has a problem at idle where if I take my foot off the gas quickly, it drops below 1K rpm and dies. To keep it from doing that, I have to ease up on the gas slowly, pausing for a second at just over 1K rpm, and then release gently. If I'm not running my a/c, the car will idle fine. If the a/c is on, even that won't help and the engine will die. This problem seems worse going down the ramp of a parking garage, where I also have trouble keeping the engine going.
Any thoughts? The car has been to several mechanics, but no one seems to be able to find the problem.

pay attention to the part about the BAC (Bypass Air Control Valve). you may just have to take it off and clean it with some degreaser.
