I'm sorry.but I am looking to buy a 1988 Mazda RX-7 (non-turbo) , it runs, it just doesn’t have any power. He said its like running a "piston engine" without piston rings. He said he never took it to anyplace to look at it when it first broke down, he has just let it sit by his garage for 7 years, has 86,000 miles. and he only want $500 for it so i assume it a good deal?!

if it idles like a harley davidson its probably only on one rotor..

Could be tons of things like intake leaks, tuneups... for 500 bux you can probably part it out and make a grand or two.

Try putting some oil into the combustion chamber. May help get compression back.

Ask the seller if you can do a compression check.
