engine placement in the engine bay?

i bought an pineapple racing aluminum oil pan for an 88 t2 and my motor doesnt seem to fit right in the engine bay.
it appears that the engine sits closer tords the drivers side firewall.

using the rack and pinion as a reference (rack and pinion is square to the car) does the motor lay paralel to the rack or is it naturally angled tords the drivers side.

hope this makes sense

I think you misplaced a Motor mount somewhere. It should sit in the Engine bay UP and Down.(90 degrees like.).

my mounts are are up and down. the bolt is closer to the frame and the placement nub is closer to the engine.

it is about a 3/8th out of parallel. wider on the drivers side

all FC and i think FD motors sit crooked like that.

the front pulley bolt will point toward the driver headlight.
