I didn't read anything in this thread, but I do like the silver. I think I'll do it on my next rebuild.

Oh.. I thought you meant without pulling it apart. Any pointers on pulling it apart? Mine seems to be binding a lot when I'm pulling it apart. Maybe mines just sticking? Just pull the through bolts off, and the thing should just fall apart right?

Well. After a bunch more research, you just heat up the back of it... pops right out.

Anyways... after a bunch more cleaning/painting I've determined that spray paint gives you headaches, no matter how ventilated the area is.

Here's another money shot:

I'll bet the paint on the fan blades starts getting trashed within 100 miles.
Looks nice now though.

Black.. of course. So will the car.

I know the paint will end up looking like crap. and the fan blades I painted because I had extra paint. Who the hell cares about the stock clutch fan anyways. hehe. I'll end up with an e-fan... which I won't paint.

Anyways.. thanks for the comments.

I figured it was high time I updated this thread.... and while its not the engine, its the jewellery box the engine will be sitting in. Mazda PZ Black:

This isn't even related to the engine... but I did say this was a shameless thread...
I practiced painting a bit on the sunroof piece. Primer/painted in my driveway, no cover, with bugs and ****... so you can see that stuff.. other than that, it came out really nice. Pretty happy with my new HVLP gun. Still finishing my paint booth.
