engine oil pressure help

hey guys i have another issue for the project its the oil pressure now for some reason it stopped showing the pressure on the oil gauge so i took it to a guy who had this to say on the report

-"replaced engine oil pressure sending unit, ran the engine and the oil pressure would fluctuate between 0 and 35 psi. removed the oil pressure sending unit installed master oil pressure gauge. the engine oil pressure was up to 70 psi on a warm engine at high idle. the oil pressure was at 5 psi at a hot idle. the oil pressure is lower then it should be, re installed the oil pressure sending unit"

now the engine has been rebuilt to spec (new apex and one aluminum housing) by the guy i got it from has less then 1000 miles on it..jasma catback exaust s5 stock turbo from 89 i believe

thats the information i have any help as to why or what i can do to fix properly

As opposed to the front cover on the washing machine?

Mazdatrix has a little FAQ about this which explains the problem:
