Engine Oil

I am getting this new rebuild engine in my vert, i just want to make sure what kind of oil am i going to use in the first 3000-4000 miles, after like 5000 miles of the break in i'll use royal purple 20w50 as long as its hotter than 20F.
i was in royal purple's site and it said that i should not use it until i actually break in the motor. i'll go with that.
what kind of thickness engine oil shoud i use for the first 4000 miles ?
my plan on oil change is 500 / 1000 / 2000 / 3500 / 5000 ... that should be more than enough
for the first 4k i am thinking Castrol 10w30 / 10w40 i should be ok, keep in mind i m in florida, which kind u guy think will be better for me

i think i did more than enuf searching on the forum but nothing really answers my question. if you are going to tell me to search please post a thread with the info i needed.

That's insane. Start the engine and run it for about 5-10 minutes. Change the oil. Now run 500 miles or so. Change the oil. Now start your regular scheduled oil changes.

I always run 20W-50.

Straight 30-weight or 10W30 is recommended for break-in.

Wait, what? So you drain all the oil out of it for the rebuild, obviously, then after the rebuild you run it for 5-10 min and change the oil already?

Also, is the recommended oil changes for rebuild include synthetics as well if you're running no MOP?

I think it's overkill.
I change oil after first 500, then regular intevals after that...
Changing oil after initial start-up is a bit paranoid and overkill in my book.
