my engine numbers are: E079009 is this an s4 or s5 engine?

not too sure on how to know an engine's year by its number. have you tried calling the dealer and seeing what you can find out from the service department?

Doing a search for something like "engine differences" will give you a lot of results that will tell you how to find out if you have an S4 or S5 engine.

i own a 1st gen with turbo 13b engine.it's from fc.the car has mix parts.(s4-s5)here in greece Mazda can't say what is for sure...any ideas?

check that little thingy on the engine with the weird serial, lol, can't remember if it's ecu or tps, anyhow s4s and s5s run off different ones, can't remember the exact code.
