Question Engine mount question

Do I really need those little "cup" things that sit between the mount and the frame of the car? My gxl did not come with them when I took the engine out BUT my SE did. I installed the engine into the GXL and I forgot to put on the drivers side "cup". Do I really need this??

Uh, are you referring to the rubber portion of the mount?

i didnt put mine back in when i changed the engine. i really havent noticed a difference. i mean really.. what could they do? its just like putting another surface in between the mount and subframe. it cannot move because the bolt it tightened. I think its just there to give the rubber a bit of protection

Those cup things are there just to prevent chemicals (especially engine oil) from splashing all over the rubber engine mounts.&nbsp It also shims the engine higher just a bit.&nbsp You really don't need them if you can't easily replace them...
